CM assures to talk to PM on curtailing MPT’s jurisdiction

PANAJI: The Chief Minister, Mr Digambar Kamat, on Friday, assured the state legislative assembly that he would take up the issue of curtailing “extended jurisdiction” of the Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) with the central authorities, including the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, and Union Shipping Minister, Mr G K Vasan, so that people leaving at coastal areas in places like Khariwada, Velsao, Bogmalo, Sridao, Betul, etc get relief.

Home Minister tables statements in House

PANAJI: In a bid to clear the name of his son, Mr Roy Naik from the allegations as regards his involvement with the drug mafia, the Home Minister, Mr Ravi Naik, on Thursday, tabled a couple of statements made by two Roys – Roy Fernandes and Roy D’Souza, both from Anjuna.
