Govt to ask Centre to redefine MPT’s limits

PANAJI: The Chief Minister, Mr Digambar Kamat has said that the state cabinet on Friday approved a proposal to request the Union government to alter and redefine the port limits of the Mormugao Port Trust in terms of Section 4(2), Section 4(3) and Section 5 of the Indian Ports Act, 1908 confining the area of control and operational limits of the Mormugao Port Trust.

ZP members to approach govt over devolution of power

PANAJI: The North Goa Zilla Panchayat members on Friday decided to follow up with the government on the devolution of powers to the body, and if this did not work, then to approach the courts. After discussions at the AGM held at Porvorim on Friday, all members felt that they should approach the authorities once again to see if there was any progress and if nothing materialised then approach the courts again.
