Sensex bounces back with 153-point gain

MUMBAI: Bombay stock market, which witnessed four per cent fall last week, today rebound with a 153 point gain in Sensex, driven by strong buying interest in financial scrips amid easing inflation. After a see-saw session, the Bombay Stock Exchange’s benchmark index, Sensex, ended 152.80 points or 0.76 per cent higher at 20,309.69.

Govt’s stake in SCI to decline to 63.75%

MUMBAI: The Government’s stake in the State owned-Shipping Corporation of India Ltd will come down to 63.75 per cent from 80.12 per cent currently after the company’s follow-on issue slated to open in end November or early December, a top company official said here.
