Carlos for closure of Mormugao municipal office

Vasco: With COVID-19 cases rising in Vasco and its peripheries, the Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida has called for temporary closure of the municipal office until the virus is brought under control.

Almeida requested the Urban Development Minister Milind Naik to give necessary instructions to the director of municipal administration and chief officer of Mormugao Municipal Council to shut down the municipal office for a temporary period till the virus is brought under control.

Almeida also appealed to the district Collector to make arrangements for taking up anti-COVID measures as the dreaded virus is rapidly spreading in and around Vasco.

He, however, urged the people of Vasco not to get panicky over the rise in COVID-19 positive cases adding, “People should take all preventive and precautionary measures so that the virus can be prevented from spreading.”

He also advised the people to take care of the elderly and prayed for the speedy recovery of the MMC chairperson, councillors and staff who have tested positive for COVID-19.
