Bridging gaps through music

Child’s Play India Foundation organised a choral concert ‘Bridge of Voices: Creating International Collaboration and Friendship’ on March 23 at Menezes Braganza Hall, Panaji. The concert was well attended and featured the choirs of Child’s Play’s children and adult community which were led by Nicky Manlove who is a visiting volunteer from Seattle USA and visiting choir from Sweden, the Sangforeningen Qohr led by Cecilia Ohrwall. The programme was a mix of songs by Cat Stevens, the Beatles and David Bowie to Vivaldi’s stunning Gloria and other sacred music. The string ensemble in the Gloria had two Child’s Play children namely, Irfan (violin) and Salim (cello) Shimpigar. The concert ended on a high note, with the combined forces of the Swedish and Child’s Play children’s choir singing Swedish folk and popular songs.
