Benelli showroom opens in Goa


PANAJI: Italian bike Benelli revved into Goa on Thursday with FC Goa players doing the launch.  A new showroom of the Italian superbike, DSK Benelli-Goa opened at NH17, Porvorim showcasing the entire range of the premium brand.

Pune-based DSK Motowheels, one of the strongest players in India’s superbike industry, announced the opening of the showroom that is in association with local partner, AM Motors. DSK Motowheels is the sole seller of Benelli bikes in India.

Shirish Kulkarni, chairman, DSK Motowheels, said that Goa showroom is the 14th dealer outlet in India and is designed to give customers the complete package of services of the premium bike brand. Employees at DSK Benelli-Goa have been provided with specialised training in management of sales, service, spare parts and customer service to ensure that buyers enjoy the best-in-class ownership experience, he said.

India’s market for superbikes is estimated at 15,000 bikes in 2015 and showing robust growth. Among the superbike brands in the market Benelli annual sales are about 15,000 in India, said Kulkarni. In Goa the dealership hopes to sell around 120 bikes in the first year of operations.

The dealership had a soft launch two months ago and current launch is to tie-in with football fervour prevailing in Goa, said Kulkarni. Since the opening of the showroom, the dealership received 24 order bookings, he said. The bike’s USP is combination of design and technology as well as attractive pricing, he added. Price range is between Rs 3.05 lakh to Rs 12.07 lakh depending on engine size. The showroom also has the limited edition of TNT 600 I gold of which only 60 pieces are manufactured for Indian market.

Shrinivas Dempo, co-owner, FC Goa and chairman of Dempo Group of Companies unveiled the showroom and he was accompanied by FC Goa team players. Prominent automobile dealers were at the launch. Ashton Godinho, CEO, Investment Promotion Board was also present.

The dealership is fully equipped to meet the servicing of the superbikes and will stock key parts. Availability of spare parts should be within 10 days at the longest, according to the dealers.
