All eyes on Sachin’s off-roading skills

Behind the wheel with Tendulkar

Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar might have retired from cricket, but hasn’t given up sport and adventure. He made his way to Goa at Quepem on Sunday morning to be part of the concluding function of #BadRoadBuddies, an off-roading event hosted by Apollo Tyres.

Nearly 50 off-roaders, social media influencers and journalists from different parts of the country descended to be part of the grand finale. Brand ambassador for Apollo Tyres, Sachin Tendulkar, chairman, Onkar S Kanwar and Vice Chairman and MD, Apollo Tyres Ltd, Neeraj Kanwar were also present for the function.

Sachin’s entry to the venue couldn’t be missed; he came driving through to a difficult terrain making it to the finish point in style. He then addressed the media and the #BadRodadBuddies and spoke about association with the brand. “Our shared passion brings us together. We are alike in many ways. The brand is ambitious and wants to show what India is capable of. I appreciate and admire these qualities. Dreaming big-that’s what made me want to be a part of that dream,” he said.

He did speak about his off-roading experience. He said: “The enthusiasm and energy witnessed here is brilliant. This is my first experience in Goa and it was incredible. It’s a special experience in every way. I have not done off-roading in India before today, but having done it abroad I knew when to keep the momentum going. I couldn’t believe that we would be able to travel through some of the terrain. But it’s been exciting.”

There was a point where he had to co-drive into a deep valley and all of a sudden the rope that held the car broke and though there was a jerk, the driver managed to steer the vehicle and so did Sachin, who remained calm and relaxed. It was a great experience for all those gathered there to witness Tendlya in action with great sportsmanship.
