PANAJI: Kendriya Vidyalaya Bambolim camp celebrated its 31st annual day at Dinanath Mangeshkar hall, Kala Academy, Panaji recently.
The chief guest on the occasion was the Deputy Speaker of Legislative Assembly Vishnu Wagh. He was accorded a formal welcome by the principal of the Vidyalaya P K Chandran. This was followed by the annual report by the principal which highlighted the achievements of the school, students and the teachers.
Next to follow was the cultural programme starting with the Saraswati vandana followed by the welcome song. Thereafter items ‘Rhythmic Dance’ and ‘Colours of India Dance’-with a variety of dances of different states- were presented by the tiny tots of primary section.
Next were the secondary students with a Punjabi dance. ‘Atulya Bharat’, a fashion show added a great punch as the primary children walked the ramp with grace and poise. This was followed by ‘Mute Beat’ on the theme of child-trafficking.
A fusion song showcasing patriotism towards our country was presented by the primary section, a Goan cultural show highlighted the culture of Goa followed by a skit on ‘Conservation of water’ presented by the senior students.
The elegant ‘Diamond beat’, a fusion dance by the students of the secondary section drew an unceasing applause. The school orchestra gave the final touch to the annual day programme.
After the cultural programme, meritorious students in academics and extra-curricular activities were felicitated. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest stressed on the importance of education in moulding students into responsible citizens of the country.
