ATM with Rs 7.82 lakh stolen at Margao

An ATM belonging to the Ratnakar Bank based at Ravanfond -Margao located a few meters away from the main road was stolen by unknown persons. The cash amount in the machine is said to be Rs 7.82 lakh according to the Margao police.

Police sub inspector John Fernandes who is investigating the case said that as per the complaint cash of Rs 7.82 lakh were stolen. He said that the ATM machine was housed in a building at the ground floor and some people are residing in the building. He said that it was raining heavily and the incident might have happened during the night.

The police said, “We received information on Friday afternoon and a team visited the site. We conducted the panchanama however no weapon was found. The entire machine was removed. A dog squad and fingerprint expert was pressed into service but no clue has been obtained till date.

A complaint has been lodged by Pundalik Pedneker  a resident of Saligao who is an executive field officer of CMS (cash management system) looking after the installation, maintenance  and replenishment of cash of RBL ATMs.

Based on his complaint an offence under Section 380 of IPC has been registered.
