‘Art Without Frontiers’, a book written by nationally and internationally acclaimed veteran Manipuri and Oddissi classical dancer, Sharon Lowen was launched at Suryakiran Heritage Hotel, Campal. The book was released at the hands of Pratapsingh Rane, while the guest speaker on the occasion was Augusto Pinto.
The book release function was organised by Swastik Cultural Association in association with Nakshatra Productions.
Lowen’s book ‘Art Without Frontiers’ highlights the views of gurus, performing artistes from India and abroad, scholars, media and arts organisations from 1990 to 2018 exploring the issues, challenges and shifting landscapes for classical Indian dance and music today. Lowen is a renowned artist of Odissi. She has bridged cultures performing on every continent as well as for television and film. Originally from the US, Lowen has made her home in India since 1973 to dedicate herself to her work as an artiste and to promote excellence in Indian performing arts.
