Archbishop extends X’mas greetings

PANAJI: Archbishop Patriarch Filipe Neri Ferrão has greeted the people of Goa on the occasion of Christmas.

In his message, the Archbishop has said, “The whole Christian world rejoices on this feast of the birth of Jesus, God made man.” “It is the feast of the tenderness of God who, like a mother conversing with her child, communicates to humanity the intimacy of his unconditional love,” the message says, pointing out, “As we celebrate this joy, I, together with the Catholic community in this Archdiocese of Goa and Daman, extend greetings to all and wish that the blessings brought from heaven at Christmas be showered upon everyone.”

“And in these difficult times, when either God is denied or his concept is distorted or even when someone’s idea of God is sought to be imposed on others, I pray that the Child Jesus, the Prince of Peace may inspire us to witness to his Divine tenderness, as we share our common responsibility for the world in which we live and strive to make it a place of justice, understanding and reconciliation,” the message stated, adding “A Blessed Christmas to everyone!”
