Porvorim: With just one more game left , the Goan lads have proved that lack of match practice is their undoing as Andhra Pradesh managed to bowl them out for 228 on the second day of the Vijay Merchant Trophy tournament at Goa Cricket Association (GCA) ground in Porvorim on Wednesday.
At close of play Andhra Pradesh trailed Goa by 17 runs.
The batsmen from Goa have since the last matches bat resiliently – not just keeping their wickets intact but keeping the score board ticking and , at times , leaving rival bowlers perplexed.
Goa who resumed their innings on 182 for the loss of seven wickets added 46 runs on the second day with Veer Yadav resuming in the morning on 41 and scoring four more runs. Shreyash Usgaonkar was not out on 18 for Goa and Faizan Sayed scored 18.
Gavvala Mahesh was the pick of the Andhra Pradesh bowlers capturing seven wickets for 60 runs in 42.4 overs.
In reply, Andhra Pradesh scored 222 for the loss of three wickets in 60 overs. Kalluru Reddy top scored for the visitors with 104 from 162 balls.
Faizan Saiyed claimed two wickets for Goa and Shreyash Usganokar claimed one.
