Why did you opt to start a business in Goa?
I worked as site engineer initially and then joined as director in Supercons. It is a private limited company in civil and structural projects which is still in active business. It was always my passion to have a venture of my own. So along-side I ventured in residential sector and eventually launched my own company Sai Homes.
Your toughest task in setting up the business? Financial crisis at certain time let me down. But I took the courage to set up again.
Have you achieved all your goals? If not what remains to be done?
My ambition and dream is to build skyscrapers in Goa
Your best business moment.
Every moment when I see satisfaction and happiness on clients face.
Most difficult period. How did you overcome it?
Financial crisis gave a complete set back. Sheer determination got me on my foot again.
Customs or festivals that appeal to you.
All festivals are celebrated in a traditional way irrespective of any religion. That is appealing rather than a particular festival.
State one aspect of Goa which has changed for better or worse?
Fish scarcity is become worse. One cannot feast on fish like good old days
Are you happy with the changes you see in Goa? Why?
I am happy to see the development side but sad to see that infrastructure has not grown. Tourism should be developed at international standards
What changes would you like to see in the business as well as social environment?
The government should lend helping hand to people who want to start business. There should be encouragement given to the youth and their confidence must be developed to venture into business
If not a businessman, what would you have chosen as a profession? Why?
I always desired to build. So if not my own business, I would have worked for a construction company
Your definition of susegado
I see susegad as peace loving and a stress buster. It is very much essential in today’s fast paced world.
