Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao organised an informative village excursion to Old Goa in association with Soul Travelling for first year engineering students as part of the Induction Programme 2019. The idea was to introduce an unknown side of Old Goa to students who will spend the next four years learning in Goa.
The trail was curated in collaboration with Museum of Christian Arts, and students were briefed by museum curator, Natasha Fernandes. Students saw artworks on the walls of various monumental buildings like Santa Monica, Our Lady of Rosary, Royal Chapel of St Anthony and the ruins of St Augustine. They were informed about the simple child-like drawings on the walls made from vegetable dyes and mineral pigments to the ancient art of Kaavi made with a paste of soil and charcoal filled into an etched design.
