Hyderabad based infrastructure company, GMR, recently organised a meeting between cargo operators and representatives of pharmaceutical companies in the state to promote routing of pharma exports via Hyderabad airport.
GMR is got the mandate to construct Mopa airport and the company organised the meeting as preparatory for developing cargo movement from the state post the commissioning of Mopa. Several representatives of the local pharmaceutical industry such as such as Glenmarck , Teva ,Lupin, etc., were present at the meeting as well as local clearing and forwarding agents and airline cargo officials. About 3,400 tons of pharmaceutical exports per month via air orginates in the state but most of it is through Mumbai airport. GMR is hoping to route Goan pharmaceutical air cargo from Hyderabad airport.
