Objecting to the ‘threatening and provocative move’ of few Karnataka politicians over the demolished hutments at Baina, Shiv Sena chief advocate Ajeetsingh Rane on Wednesday opined that the affected migrants of Karnataka should be rehabilitated by spending from the Karnataka government exchequer.
The politicians, including MLA of Karnataka A Patil, had visited the site where illegal huts were demolished by the state government, and allegedly provoked the affected migrants “with an eye on the Karnataka votes.”
The politicians and administrative officials of Karnataka also supported these migrants.
“Goans would not fall prey to their pressure tactics. These politicians should not threaten us. Goans are not staying illegally in Bangalore to take action,” Rane said, adding that, instead of threatening the Goans, the politicians should have had helped the affected people at Baina by providing them legal help (lawyers) to fight back in the court.
Meanwhile, speaking on the controversial issue of river Mhadei, Rane and Suresh Bhise, the vice-president of Shiv Sena applauded the stand taken by the Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar who stated that, if need be, military help would be taken to resolve the river issue.
