Student of MES College of Arts and Commerce, Abbas Shaikh was awarded ‘Best Management Student of the Year (undergraduate)’ for the current academic year by Goa Management Association. The award consisted of a trophy and a silver salver which were presented to him at the 43rdAnnual General Meeting and Annual Day function 2018 of Goa Management Association (GMA).
A competition consisting of an aptitude test, a group discussion and personal interview moderated by a panel of three judges was organised by GMA to decide on the winner of the respective undergraduate and postgraduate category. The undergraduate category saw the participation of 18 students from various management colleges in Goa. Students were judged on the basis of their understanding of management principles, current economic scenarios/current affairs, individual academic achievements and experience, the ability to display confidence and communication skills.
Abbas, who is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administrationat at MES College, is also the founder and owner of The Business Spectra which is a social media management enterprise based in Margao that provides social media consultancy, content creation, website design and development and other services to clients from different industries.
The entrepreneur had previously secured the first rank at MES College in his first year of BBA. He has also won first place at a presentation competition organised by GMA based on the theme Disruptive thinker: An entrepreneurship Model, second place for Best Manager at Acumen- a national level management event organised by KLS Gogte, Belgaum (2018) and second place in corporate strategy at Ranbhoomi- a national level management event organised by Dempo College, Goa (2018).
