A world without waste

Aerated beverage giant, Coca-Cola in partnership with AIESEC, an organization run by students recently organized a youth speak forum under the umbrella of Youth 4 Global Goals. The forum discussed responsibility of the youth in achieving sustainable development goals. On the occasion Ishteyaque Amjad, vice-president, public affairs, communication & sustainability, Coca-Cola India & South West Asia, shared Coca-Cola’s vision of achieving a ‘world without waste.’ He highlighted how the company is committed to being on the side of the solution by taking actions to collect and recycle the equivalent of 100 per cent of its packaging by 2030. Amjad asked youth to develop efficient and adequate waste management and recycling systems as investing in the planet is the need of the hour for a positive socio-economic impact. Later while interacting with the media he also pointed out that, Goa is a very important market for Coca Cola which has a dedicated manufacturing unit in the state.

Over 600 youth from 30 cities and about 150 different universities across India participated in the youth forum.  The event spoke about many issues in sustainable development such as waste management across coastal cities like Goa.
