PANAJI: Stating that an event like the one which happened at Muzaffarpur in Bihar, wherein around 1,100 candidates seeking jobs in Indian Army were made to answer a written examination in near-nude state, would never happen again, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said that his ministry would soon introduce online examination for the candidates, who desire to make it to the Indian Army.

It may be recalled that Parrikar had sought a report from Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag on the particular incident, which had taken place earlier this year. The candidates were forced to strip before answering the examination, following a spate of cheating incidents in Bihar, during such examinations.

“I have not yet received the report,” the Defence Minister informed, stating that the very fact that such a report has been sought from the highest level, would ensure that no such incident would be repeated in the future. He also said that once the candidates clear the online examination, these filtered candidates would then be called for further recruitment processes.

The 1,100-odd candidates were appearing for the recruitment examination for soldiers on general duty and in the clerical and technical categories.
