Panaji: Seventy-five samples have tested negative for the coronavirus (COVID-19), giving a sigh of relief to the health authorities and people of Goa. Of the 121 samples, 75 tested negative for the virus while reports of the remaining 46 samples are still awaited.
As per the media bulletin issued by the directorate of health services, eight persons suspected of having COVID-19 are currently in the isolation ward of the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim. These eight patients include three fresh suspected cases of coronavirus that were reported in the state on Monday. Till date, Goa has seen 165 suspected cases of the viral virus.
The state has so far seen seven confirmed cases of COVID-19; all the patients have recovered from the disease. Four of the seven patients who have recovered from COVID-19 have been quarantined and kept under observation at the Acron Seaway Resort in Candolim. The three other ‘recovered’ patients have been placed under home quarantine for a period of seven days as per the protocol set by the Union ministry of health and family welfare. On Monday, 34 more people were placed under quarantine; around 1794 people have isolated themselves in their homes in the state.
At present, 14 persons have been quarantined at the Margao Residency, one at the North Goa District Hospital and eight people have also been isolated at the Old Goa Residency. Twelve persons have also been quarantined at the Mayem Residency.
