50-year-old Vasco man is Goa’s ninth COVID fatality

Panaji: The state reported one more COVID-19 death on Thursday, taking the death toll to nine. A 50-year-old man from New Vaddem in Vasco died while undergoing treatment at the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) at Bambolim.

He was reportedly suffering from a fever since the last few days and taken to a health facility in Chicalim late evening on Wednesday after he started experiencing difficulty in breathing. He was subsequently referred to the GMC.

As per a statement issued by the directorate of health services, the man was admitted to the GMC with ‘co-morbid conditions’ and subsequently confirmed positive for COVID-19. Unfortunately, the man succumbed to the deadly virus.

He is the fourth victim of COVID-19 from Vasco town.
