The 10th, 11th, and 12th editions of the Goa State Film Festival will be held from August 14 to 17 at Maquinez Palace Theatre and Inox, Panaji, showcasing Konkani and Marathi films as well as workshops and masterclasses.
This year’s line-up has 19 feature films and four non-feature films competing for 21 and seven awards respectively. The feature film selection includes ‘Questao de Confusao’, ‘Miranda House’, ‘Kaajro’, ‘7 Dayz’, ‘Juze’, ‘Amori’ (Dusk), ‘Chopadi’, ‘Glory’, ‘Mopa Diary’, ‘Amizade’, ‘Bade Abbu’, ‘D’Costa House’, ‘Pedru Poder’, ‘Ransaavat’, ‘Fotting No. 1’, ‘Gang’, Tem’ Battle of Egos’, ‘Crazy Mogi’ and ‘MOG’. Non-feature entries are ‘Wagro’, ‘Goy: Swatantryach e Homkhan’, ‘Gathan’, and ‘Kupamcho Daryeo’.
Beyond films, the other highlights include sessions like ‘Painting with Light: Cinematography as the Soul of Cinema’ by Neelaabh Kaul on August 15 at 10.30 a.m.; ‘Understanding the Power of Cinema Through Its Elements’ by Pankaj Saxena on August 16 at 11.30 a.m.; a masterclass on acting by Kanwarjit Paintal on August 16 at 10 a.m.; and a masterclass on movie action by Chitah Yajnesh Shetty on August 17 at 10 a.m. All sessions will be held at Entertainment Society of Goa. The festival is organised by the Department of Information & Publicity, Government of Goa and executed by the Entertainment Society of Goa.
