Guardian Angel Primary School, Curchorem, celebrated Van Mahotsav with a sapling plantation drive recently, promoting environmental awareness among students.
The event began with a prayer service, followed by the planting of a sapling by school manager Fr Thomas Gonsalves, in the presence of Head teacher Remezia Fernandes. Fr Gonsalves urged students to protect nature and encourage tree planting for a better future.
Students presented a cultural programme featuring songs, skits, and dances that addressed issues like deforestation, pollution, and climate change.
The school also installed its student parliament for 2025–2026. Janelle Teresa Dias was named President, Grantha Vasta as Prime Minister, and Anstrel Vaz, Ansh Kiran Raut, Shravya Siddesh Naik, and Scoy Dias as Ministers for Culture, Health, Sports, and Education, respectively. Class monitors were also appointed, and administered, the oath.
