567 new cases of COVID-19 logged; 17 more mortalities

Goa recorded 567 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, while 17 more people died due to the infection, taking the death toll to 2,744.

The positivity rate of the total 4,131 samples tested on Saturday is 13.72 per cent as against 14.09 per cent which was recorded on Friday when 4,086 samples were drawn for testing.

The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently stand at 1,58,990 of which 8,216 are active cases while 1,48,030 patients have defeated the deadly disease.

According to the DHS, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of other urban health centres stand as follows: Margao- 677 cases, Vasco – 264 cases, Panaji- 439 cases and
Mapusa – 217 cases.

While active positive cases in the jurisdictions of community health centres are as follows: Sankhali – 268 cases, Bicholim – 151 cases, Pernem – 382 cases, Valpoi – 264 cases, Curchorem – 292 cases and Canacona – 154 cases.

And, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of primary health centres stand as follows: Aldona – 100 cases, Betki – 219 cases, Candolim- 276 cases, Cansarvanem – 57 cases, Colvale – 194 cases, Corlim – 240 cases, Chimbel – 367 cases, Siolim – 155 cases, Porvorim- 331 cases, Mayem – 85 cases, Balli – 197 cases, Cansaulim – 300 cases, Chinchinim – 149 cases, Cortalim – 327 cases, Curtorim – 178 cases, Loutolim – 225 cases, Marcaim – 205 cases, Quepem – 178 cases, Sanguem – 170 cases, Shiroda- 177 cases, Dharbandora – 153 cases, Ponda – 642 cases and Navelim – 182 cases.
