ONLINE READING FEST: Bookworm Goa’s Online Reading Fest will be held till June 5, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The five-day fest is designed for children aged between eight and ten years. The fest will be themed around stories and folktales from five continents. These stories, activities and discussions will open up the world for children, will help them to build connections with their life and will develop their interest in reading stories. PLAY READING CIRCLE: Bookworm will host the next ‘Play Reading Circle’ over Zoom on June 9, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. During the session, the second half of ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ by Tennessee Williams will be read. Attendees will read through the play, aloud, assigning parts among themselves and varying these where possible over the course of the session. After reading through the play, they will briefly share their impressions with the group. This meeting is free and open to all above the age of 18. SHORT STORY COMPETITION: Fundacao Oriente is hosting the sixth edition of its short story competition, the Fundacao Oriente Short Story Competition (FOSSC). Entries for the same will be accepted between July 15 and July 30. The shortlisted stories eligible for prizes will be announced on November 30, while the winners of FOSSC 2021 will be declared at a function to be held on December 10. FEAST OF ST ANTHONY: The feast of St Anthony at St Anthony Chapel, Deussua will be celebrated on June 13. The novenas leading to the feast day have begun, and are being held at 6:30 p.m. The masses are also broadcast on CCRTV and the Diocesan Communication Media YouTube channel. On the feast day ie June 13, the feast mass will be held at 10 a.m. and will be broadcast on CCRTV and the Diocesan Communication Media YouTube channel. Due to the ongoing pandemic, no devotees will be allowed to physically participate in the novenas and feast day masses.
