Deadly virus claims 17 more lives

Panaji: With 576 more people testing positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the test positivity rate in the state has declined to 14.09 per cent. The deadly virus claimed 17 more lives on Friday, taking the COVID-19 death toll to 2,727 in the state.

The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently stand at 1,58,423, of which 9,099 are active cases while 1,46,597 patients have recovered from the disease.

Of the 17 COVID-19 deaths, two patients had received first dose of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the DHS, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of urban health centres stand as follows: Margao – 737 cases, Vasco – 281 cases, Panaji – 466 cases and Mapusa – 195 cases.

While active positive cases in the jurisdictions of community health centres are as follows: Sankhali – 282 cases, Bicholim – 178 cases, Pernem – 408 cases, Valpoi – 303 cases, Curchorem – 289 cases and Canacona – 191 cases.

And, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of primary health centres stand as follows: Aldona – 145 cases, Betki – 198 cases, Candolim- 356 cases, Cansarvanem – 76 cases, Colvale – 218 cases, Corlim – 260 cases, Chimbel – 387 cases, Siolim – 187 cases, Porvorim- 403 cases, Mayem – 90 cases, Balli – 228 cases, Cansaulim – 346 cases, Chinchinim – 159 cases, Cortalim – 405 cases, Curtorim – 219 cases, Loutolim – 222 cases, Marcaim – 199 cases, Quepem – 198 cases, Sanguem – 187 cases, Shiroda- 192 cases, Dharbandora – 196 cases, Ponda – 706 cases and Navelim – 192 cases.
