2,814 fresh cases of COVID-19 detected in state

Panaji: The state continued to report an alarmingly high number of coronavirus infections, as 2,814 fresh cases of the COVID-19 pandemic detected on Tuesday, taking the confirmed cases over 1 lakh-mark.

As on Tuesday, the state has 26,731 active COVID-19 cases of which majority fall under the jurisdiction of Urban Health Centre of Margao (2,262) followed by UHC of Panaji (1,695) and Primary Health Centre of Candolim (1,580).

The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently stand at 1,00,902 of which 72,799 patients have defeated the deadly disease which also include 1,870 COVID patients who have been declared as recovered in the last 24 hours.

A total of 277 were hospitalized in the state-run COVID facilities across the state on Tuesday.

According to the DHS, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of other urban health centres stand as follows:, Vasco – 749 cases  and Mapusa – 1,575 cases.

While active positive cases in the jurisdictions of community health centres are as follows: Sankhali – 894 cases, Bicholim – 1,047 cases, Pernem – 875 cases, Valpoi – 574 cases, Curchorem – 708 cases and Canacona – 550 cases.

And, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of primary health centres stand as follows: Aldona – 611 cases, Betki – 443 cases, Cansarvanem – 199 cases, Colvale – 561 cases, Corlim – 531 cases, Chimbel – 689 cases, Siolim – 835 cases, Porvorim- 1293 cases, Mayem – 249 cases,  Balli – 543 cases, Cansaulim – 1,090 cases, Chinchinim – 365 cases, Cortalim – 1,337 cases, Curtorim – 501 cases, Loutolim – 513 cases, Marcaim – 530 cases, Quepem – 351 cases, Sanguem – 426 cases, Shiroda- 575 cases, Dharbandora – 592 cases, Ponda – 1,574 cases and Navelim – 403 cases.
