46 more succumb to COVID-19 in state

Goa, on Monday, recorded 2,703 fresh cases of COVID-19, and 46 new deaths linked to the virus, taking the tally of active COVID-19 cases to over 25,000.

The positivity rate continues to be on a higher side as 45 per cent of the total samples tested in the last 24 hours were found to be positive for the virus; this is probably the highest in the country.

Around 1,425 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.

With these new cases and recoveries, the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently stand at 98,088, of which 25,839 are active cases while 70,929 patients have defeated the deadly virus. Till date, 1,320 patients have succumbed to the disease.

According to the DHS, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of other urban health centres stand as follows: Margao – 2,454 cases, Vasco – 665 cases, Panaji- 1,574 and Mapusa – 1,439 cases. While active positive cases in the jurisdictions of community health centres are as follows: Sankhali – 798 cases, Bicholim – 1,022 cases, Pernem – 738 cases, Valpoi – 515 cases, Curchorem – 625 cases and Canacona – 610 cases.

And, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of primary health centres stand as follows: Aldona – 580 cases, Betki – 417 cases, Cansarvanem – 178 cases, Colvale – 537 cases, Corlim – 574 cases, Chimbel – 762 cases, Siolim – 854 cases, Porvorim-1,283 cases, Mayem – 312 cases,  Balli – 487 cases, Cansaulim – 963 cases, Chinchinim – 333 cases, Cortalim – 1,307 cases, Curtorim – 533 cases, Loutolim – 518 cases, Marcaim – 419 cases, Quepem – 420 cases, Sanguem – 369 cases, Shiroda- 489 cases, Dharbandora – 581 cases, Ponda – 1,434 cases and Navelim – 436 cases.
