Promoting the reading habit


Vision Education Society (VES) donated books to the Lokmanya Village Library at Khandepar, Ponda on World Book Day. The project was organised by project coordinator of VES, Dwinnie Fernandes on the occasion of the 24th year of the library. Through this project, VES aimed to give these texts new life.

Vice president of VES, Mily Fernandes thanked ex sarpanch of the village panchayat of Curti Khandepar, general secretary of South Goa District Congress Committee, and chairman of the library, John Pereira for providing the donation guidelines. “By donating books you give other people the opportunity to discover for themselves that one book that could change their life. Passing on your books to someone else is the simplest way to spread the spirit of reading,” she said.

Also present were librarian, Lokmanya Village Library, Bella Lobo e Fernandes and library attendant Caitan Andrade, Rita Rodrigues and others.
