Fundação Oriente is all set to organise the sixth edition of its short story competition. Started in 2011, The Fundação Oriente Short Story Competition (FOSSC) aims to revive storytelling tradition by fostering original writing and supporting the cultural and linguistic diversity of Goa.
The competition is open to persons 18 years and above who reside in Goa. Both amateur and professional writers (including previous winners) are eligible. Short stories can be written in Konkani (Devnagiri/Romi), Marathi, Portuguese and English.
Entries for FOSSC 2021 will be accepted between July 15 and 30, 2021. The shortlisted stories eligible for the prizes will be declared on November 30, 2021 and the winners of FOSSC 2021 will be declared at a function to be held on December 10, 2021. The winning and shortlisted stories will be published in the anthology ‘Short Stories from
Goa’ in 2022.
