Goa records 247 fresh COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths

The second wave of the pandemic is raising the graph of Goa, as the state has registered over 1,600 coronavirus infections in just last seven days, pushing the active COVID-19 cases to 2,180.

On an average, 229 fresh cases of COVID-19 are being detected daily in the state in the last one week.

On Monday, 247 cases and two new deaths associated with the dreaded virus were recorded by the health services directorate. Till date 837 patients have succumbed to the disease.   

With this surge the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently stand at 59,315 of which 56,298 patients have defeated the deadly virus.

According to the DHS, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of other urban health centres stand as follows: Margao- 236, Vasco – 122 cases, Panaji- 212 and Mapusa – 106 cases.

While, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of community health centres are as follows: Sankhali – 51 cases, Bicholim – 36 cases, Pernem – 33 cases, Valpoi – 5 cases, Curchorem – 37 cases and Canacona – 23 cases.

And, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of primary health centres stand as follows: Aldona – 36 cases, Betki – 13  cases, Candolim – 188 cases, Cansarvanem – 18 cases, Colvale – 29 cases, Corlim – 40 cases, Chimbel – 56 cases, Siolim – 87 cases, Porvorim – 177 cases, Mayem – 8 cases,  Balli – 16 cases, Cansaulim – 82 cases, Chinchinim – 58 cases, Cortalim – 124 cases, Curtorim – 26 cases, Loutolim – 37 cases, Marcaim – 10 cases, Quepem – 19 cases, Sanguem – 37 cases, Shiroda- 18 cases, Dharbandora – 21 cases, Ponda – 167 cases and Navelim – 35 cases.
