St Theresa High School, St Estevam, celebrated the National Science Day with SCIENTASTICA 2021. The theme for the event was ‘Future of STI: Impacts on Education, Skills, and Work’.
Headmistress, Rev Sr Clarina Gonsalves Sfn; manager, Rev Sr Fausta Coutinho Sfn, along with the senior staff members welcomed chief guest and headmistress of St Xavier’s Institute, Old Goa, Rev Sr Monica Coelho Sfn; guest of honour, Fatima Marques; lecturer, Government College Khandola, Anita Raicar; science teacher, Marierose D’Souza and resource person Premanand Lotlikar.
The celebration began with a prayer service followed by the introduction of the dignitaries. A motorised logo based on the theme was inducted by the dignitaries. This was followed by State level INSPIRE award winners Sujay Jadhav and Shane Dias presenting their prototype models ‘Aquabot’ and ‘Fan generator’ respectively. The young aspirants will be presenting their projects at the National level.
The highlight of the event was the ‘Scientastica Quiz’, an interactive and stimulating science quiz held the students of classes nine and 10. Lotlikar then demonstrated science experiments and their underlying principles.
Prizes and certificates were presented to the winners of the quiz competition and ‘Point taken’, a science debate competition.
