The BJP state unit on Tuesday held meeting with its members on the North Goa Zilla Panchayat to take review of the progress and discuss difficulties if any, being faced by these newly elected members.
The meeting was chaired by state BJP president Sadanand Tanawade.
The ZP members have been directed to undertake one-to-one interaction with their voters in the nearby municipal areas, with the municipal elections to be held on March 20.
The ZP members have expressed satisfaction over the fact that funds to the tune of Rs 8 crore through the department of Panchayati Raj and Rs 2.80 crore through the 15th Finance Commission have been allotted for the Zilla Panchayats for undertaking developmental works. Tanawade also said that he is confident of forming councils backed by the BJP, at all municipalities as well as at the Corporation of the City of Panaji.
