Startup Invest-a-Thon at GIM

PANAJI: Providing an opportunity for startups in the state to raise capital, the Atal Incubation Center,  a new incubation center of Goa Institute of Management, Sankhali,  is organizing a Goa Invest-a-Thon event for startups to pitch to leading angel investors.  The invest-a-thon is open to Goan startups looking to raise up to Rs one crore. GIM is inaugurating its incubator facility on Friday, February 26 and the invest-a-thon is a part of the inaugural function.  The invest-a-thon has a dual purpose of enabling Investments in  local startups and promoting the state as a startup investment destination. India’s leading angel investors and syndicated investment funds are expected to attend the startup pitch. NT

LIC launches Bima Jyoti scheme

PANAJI: Life Insurance Corporation of India unveiled Bima Jyoti, a non-linked, non-participating, Individual, savings scheme which is a combination of protection and savings.  This scheme provides guaranteed lump sum payment at maturity and financial support to the family in case of unfortunate death of the policyholder during policy term.  Guaranteed additions at the rate of Rs50 per thousand basic sum assured will be added to the policy at the end of each policy year. On death during the policy term after the date of commencement of risk, sum assured and accrued guaranteed additions as per policy conditions is payable.  The minimum basic sum assured is Rs one lakh with no upper limit. The policy can be taken for term of 15 to 20 years with premium paying term calculated as policy term minus 5 years. The minimum age at entry is 90 days completed and maximum age at entry is 60 yrs.
