Significant drop in COVID-19 cases

The state, on Monday, recorded a significant drop in daily COVID-19 cases, with only 29 persons testing positive for the dreaded infection, taking the active cases to 464.

It is pertinent to note that currently there
are no active cases in the jurisdictions of Sanguem Primary Health Centre and Shiroda Primary Health Centre.

Around 53 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.

The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently stand at 54,591, of which 53,340 patients have defeated the dreaded disease.

Till date, 787 patients have succumbed to the dreaded disease in the state. Fortunately, no new deaths were registered on Monday.

According to the DHS, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of urban health centres stand as follows: Margao – 35 cases, Vasco – 13 cases, Panaji – 26 cases and Mapusa – 23 cases.

While, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of community health centres are as follows: Sankhali – 14 cases, Bicholim – 8 cases, Pernem – 2 cases, Valpoi – 10 cases, Curchorem – 23 cases and Canacona – 2 cases.

And, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of primary health centres stand as follows: Aldona – 7 cases, Betki – 7 cases, Candolim – 35 cases, Cansarvanem – 2 cases, Colvale – 2 cases, Corlim – 9 cases, Chimbel – 30 cases, Siolim – 13 cases, Porvorim – 34 cases, Mayem – 4 cases,  Balli – 8 cases, Cansaulim – 18 cases, Chinchinim – 14 cases, Cortalim – 10 cases, Curtorim – 17 cases, Loutolim – 11 cases, Marcaim – 5 cases, Quepem – 29 cases, Dharbandora – 5 cases, Ponda – 40 cases and Navelim – 8 cases.
