The staff members of Goa Multi-Faculty College and Government High School, Dharbandora jointly celebrated Republic Day by unfurling the National Flag on campus, followed by singing the National
Anthem.

Students Sharda Sonar and Sujata Rathod delivered speeches about the importance of Republic Day while Akhil Naik presented a patriotic song paying tribute to the freedom fighters and unsung heroes. Students Sweta Tamboskar, Vaishnavi Gaonkar and Isha Pathan spoke about the sacrifices of freedom fighters. The function was streamed for the benefit
of students.

Addressing the function, principal of the college, Shaikh Mohammad Parvez Al-Usmani paid homage to the freedom fighters and called this celebration as national festival of unity in diversity.

Further, he threw light on the significance of this day and he also delved on various fundamental rights and duties bestowed by the constitution. Emphasising solemn duty of each and every citizen towards the nation, he called upon them to fulfill the same without any hesitation and also without expecting any favour. Advising students, Parvez said that each of them should contribute towards nation building and requested teachers to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to become worthy citizens.

Headmistress, Siddhi Kanolkar began her speech by paying her tribute to the constitution drafting committee. She also outlined in brief some of the fundamental rights. Teacher Teja Mardolkar also expressed her views on the occasion.
