Patnekar launches revamped fire dept official website

Panaji: Goa Legislative Speaker Rajesh Patnekar appealed to the people of the state to extend all help and make the best use of their skills in helping others and changing lives.

He was speaking at the 37th Raising Day of fire department celebrated on Thursday in the city.

During the inaugural ceremony of the function Speaker Rajesh Patnekar launched a revamped fire department official website with enhanced user experience and mobile simulation app covering disaster preparedness including virtual fire safety simulator for training workforce and students.

“I appeal to the people to help others and make best use of the skills to change someone’s life. We humans are best creation and hence it is our responsibility to help others. The fire personnel proudly and selflessly provide emergency response for our community. The government has always been supporting the department”, he said. 

He congratulated and complimented the personnel for their service to the state in saving lives and property. Further urging the department to keep working and keep evolving, he encouraged them to be updated and upgraded with latest

technology.

Speaking on the occasion, the director of fire department Ashok Menon highlighted briefly about the formation of the department in the state and how it evolved over the years.

He said the department is committed on utilising technological advances to further improve the services and with the launch of fire safety virtual simulator will help to increase the engagement and interest of students and citizens in learning fire prevention and safety

techniques.

During the event the children of fire personnel who excelled in their studies were awarded with citation and gifts at the hands of the Speaker on

the occasion.
