State’s COVID-19 tally crosses 52,000-mark

The state’s tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases crossed the 52,000-mark with 96 fresh cases of dreaded infections detected on Wednesday.

The COVID death count rose to 750 with one more patient losing the battle against the virus.

Around 78 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.

With these new cases and recoveries, the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently stands at 52,079 of which 814 are active while 50,515 patients have defeated the disease.

According to the DHS, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of urban health centres stand as follows: Margao – 94 cases, Vasco – 30 cases, Panaji – 59 cases and Mapusa – 24 cases.

While active positive cases in the jurisdictions of community health centres are as follows: Sankhali – 22 cases, Bicholim – 6 cases, Pernem – 10 cases, Valpoi – 13 cases, Curchorem – 13 cases and Canacona – 21 cases.

And active positive cases in the jurisdictions of primary health centres stand as follows: Aldona – 21 cases, Betki – 25 cases, Candolim – 36 cases, Cansarvanem – 4 cases, Colvale – 11 cases, Corlim – 19 cases, Chimbel – 43 cases, Siolim – 31 cases, Porvorim – 46 cases, Mayem – 5 cases,  Balli – 7 cases, Cansaulim – 47 cases, Chinchinim – 9 cases, Cortalim – 33 cases, Curtorim – 17 cases, Loutolim – 29 cases, Marcaim – 16 cases, Quepem – 7 cases, Sanguem – 20 cases, Shiroda – 11 cases, Dharbandora – 7 cases, Ponda – 55 cases and Navelim – 21 cases.
