State records drop in COVID-19 cases

With less number of samples drawn for testing on Monday comparatively to other weekdays, the state recorded a significant drop in COVID-19 cases with only 35 persons testing positive for the dreaded infection.

The drop of cases and 66 fresh recoveries brought down the active COVID-19 cases below 800-mark.

The COVID-19 death count mounted to 749 in the state, as two more patients succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.

The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently stand at 51,891 of which 799 are active cases while 50,343 patients have defeated the deadly virus.

According to the DHS, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of urban health centres stand as follows: Margao – 81 cases, Vasco – 41 cases, Panaji – 45 cases and Mapusa – 23 cases.

While, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of community health centres are as follows: Sankhali – 26 cases, Bicholim – 12 cases, Pernem – 10 cases, Valpoi – 14 cases, Curchorem – 10 cases and Canacona – 29 cases.

And, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of primary health centres stand as follows: Aldona – 13 cases, Betki – 23 cases, Candolim – 27 cases, Cansarvanem – 1 cases, Colvale – 7 cases, Corlim – 18 cases, Chimbel – 36 cases, Siolim – 27 cases, Porvorim – 44 cases, Mayem – 5 cases,  Balli – 4 cases, Cansaulim – 44 cases, Chinchinim – 16 cases, Cortalim – 30 cases, Curtorim – 29 cases, Loutolim – 28 cases, Marcaim – 19 cases, Quepem – 11 cases, Sanguem – 9 cases, Shiroda – 9 cases, Dharbandora – 9 cases, Ponda – 57 cases and Navelim – 39 cases.
