Margao: Some unknown person broke window glass of a car belonging to a tourist that was parked near the SGPDA market in a broad daylight, and decamped with a cash and other valuables, all worth Rs 2.7 lakh.
The Fatorda police have registered the offence and further investigation is in progress. Prashant Kumar, a native of Uttar Pradesh, who had come to Goa, has lodged the complaint with Fatorda police. The offence under Section 379 of the IPC has been registered.
As per the available information, Prashant Kumar had come to Goa for New Year celebrations. He came to Margao and parked his car near South Goa Planning and Development Authority building and went out. During this time, some unknown person broke open the car and decamped with a purse containing cash of Rs 14,000, mobiles and other valuables, worth Rs 2.7 lakh.
The police visited the site and conducted the panchanama. PSI Paresh Ramnathker is conducting investigation.
