CISF personnel helps return bag with Rs 4.85 lakh at airport




In yet another incident of honesty, a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel on Friday handed over a bag containing Indian currency of Rs 4,85,800 which was lying abandoned at Dabolim airport to the rightful passenger on Friday.

As per available information from the sources at Dabolim airport, the CISF personnel R Pradhan deployed at the arrival area spotted an unattended bag near the arrival belt 2 and 3 of Dabolim airport at around 1.56 pm.

The CISF personnel on duty immediately informed the bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS) team who in turn reached the spot and searched the unattended bag as per SOP. After searching, the bag was declared safe and the physical search was done by BDDS and CIW staff. During the course of physical search, Indian currency of Rs. 4,85,800 was found in the bag.

During the course of physical bag check, one pen with a name inscribed on it was also found. With the help of CCTV, the passenger was traced to find out the flight number from which the passenger had arrived. Then with the help of the name inscribed on the pen the passenger details like name and contact number were found out from Indigo airlines by which the passenger had travelled.

The passenger was called over the phone and after identifying the right owner, the bag along with all the cash was handed over.
