Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday called on President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and extended an invitation to him for the 59th Goa Liberation Day celebrations in the state.
Taking to Twitter, Sawant said he “called on the President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji, in New Delhi today”.
“Extended a warm invitation to the President Kovind for the 59th Goa Liberation Day celebration, as we embark upon a new chapter to promote Goa’s cultural heritage on the national and global stage,” he tweeted.
The state government has already announced the plan to celebrate 60 years of Goa Liberation with various activities from December 19, 2020 to December 19, 2021 across the state and capital cities of all other states and Union territories.
The government has constituted a state-level monitoring committee headed by the Chief Minister to chalk out programmes for 60 years of Goa Liberation.
