Udant commemorated International Men’s Day by celebrating the achievements of men in society. The host for the evening, emcee Maria introduced the awardees and invited them to provide insight into their respective fields and passions.

Fashion designer and social worker, Edwin Pinto spoke of his passion for tailoring and about his label ‘Janota’ that offers handmade shoes made by shoemakers of Goa. He also spoke about his commitment towards working with people addicted to drugs and his plans to open his own rehabilitation centre in Goa. National sports director of the Special Olympics Bharat, Victor R Vaz spoke about his commitment towards the development of sports for the disabled. Music composer, singer and lyricist, Roque Lazarus shared a song that he wrote for the occasion just two hours before the event. He also spoke of his background that shaped his passion for music. Veteran footballer and Arjuna Awardee Bruno Coutinho spoke about his dedication towards football that helped him achieve laurels. He urged parents to encourage their children to pursue sports and to stay committed to training regularly along with focusing on their education. Young achiever Selvyn Braganza shared about his commitment towards re-introducing classical instruments and music to the people. Historian Sanjeev Sardesai shared with the audience his background working in the tourism sector that encouraged him to introduce the rich heritage of Goa to its visitors through.

Chief guest for the evening was historian and social activist, Prajal Sakhardande. Addressing the gathering he spoke of the rich heritage of Goa that requires protection from exploitation. He urged those present to educate themselves on the heritage and culture of Goa and to take active part in preserving it.

A musical performance by singer, lyricist and bassist Me Amour was also held as part of the event. Spot prizes and games were also held. The event concluded with a short presentation by project officer Tanya Mendes on the achievements of the organisation during its 10 years in service.
