With an aim to empower unemployed and underemployed women and youth in Goa through skill enhancement programmes and activities, Agnel Entrepreneurship Development Institute (AEDI) organised an entrepreneurship awareness programme for the village organisation of VP Rivona under the Sanguem block. The resource persons for the programme were research and training officer, Raj Naik; project officer, Sunil Bhatt, women’s welfare officer, Daniella Fernandes, and assistant, SRCW Agnes Fatima Pinto.
Bhatt welcomed the gathering and spoke about the history of Agnel Ashram and the purpose of its establishment. He further explained more about AEDI and the work it does for women and their empowerment as it has been appointed as the State Resource Centre for Women under the Directorate of Women and Child Development.
Naik explained the various government schemes available for women such as the Chief Minister Rojgaar Yojana (CMRY), Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Goa Tribal Employment Generation Programme Scheme (GTEGP), Mudra Yojana, NABARD E-Shakti Portal for setting up self-employment ventures for sustainable livelihood and also sensitised them on UdyogAdhar registration under MSME (Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises). He further encouraged the beneficiaries to apply for the same.
The programme was attended by 21 participants.
