Goa sees 152 new COVID cases


Panaji: The daily fresh cases of COVID-19 continue to be on the lower side in Goa with 152 new cases recorded on Friday.

The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state currently stand at 46,632 of which 1,295 are active while 44,665 people have defeated the deadly virus.

Some 198 COVID patients recovered from the disease on Friday.

According to the Directorate of health services, the 1295 active cases are as follows:

Urban health centres – Margao (91), Vasco (77), Panaji (87) and Mapusa (52).

Community health centres- Sankhali (36), Bicholim (29), Pernem (35), Valpoi (17), Curchorem (22) and Canacona (19).

Primary health centres – Aldona (14), Betki (30), Candolim (81), Cansarvanem (8), Colvale (41), Corlim (39), Chimbel (47), Siolim (38), Porvorim (86), Mayem (10),  Balli (16), Cansaulim (41), Chinchinim (27), Cortalim (68), Curtorim (22), Loutolim (22), Marcaim (14), Quepem (21), Sanguem (17), Shiroda (26), Dharbandora (21), Ponda (108) and Navelim (33).

Two men succumb

Panaji: The dreaded coronavirus claimed two more lives in the state on Friday, taking the death count to 672. As per information provided by the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, the patients who succumbed to the virus include a 60-year-old man from Usgao who died while undergoing treatment at GMC. The second fatality is of a 72-year-old man from Curtorim, he was reportedly brought dead to Hospicio Hospital in Margao and tested positive for the virus postmortem.
