Achievers of art and culture


The prize distribution function of  various competitions including the Marathi ‘A’ and ‘B’ group drama, tiatr ‘A’ group, Konkani drama, one-act play at high school, higher secondary and college level and children’s drawing competition organised by Kala Academy in the year 2019-20 was held at Dinanath Mangueshkar Kala Mandir, Panaji. The function was organised in adherence to standard operating procedures as per government guidelines.

The prizes and trophies were distributed to the winners at the hands of chief guest, Minister for Art and Culture and chairman of Kala Academy, Govind Gaude. Also present on the dais were director of art and culture, Sagun Velip; member secretary of Kala Academy, Pravin Barad; and director (administration), Fransquinha Olivera. Addressing the gathering, Gaude congratulated all the prize winners and advised all the youth and students present to participate in such competitions irrespective of thoughts of success or failure. He further stated that he was optimistic that activities and programmes at Kala Academy would commence in the coming months. He therefore appealed to the artist community, especially the participants, to be prepared for the same.
