NABARD conducts sanitation literacy campaign at Pilerne

PANAJI: As part of a pan-India sanitation campaign to promote literacy on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) products, NABARD- Goa organised a sanitation literacy campaign in Pilerne village on November 12. Usha Ramesh, general manager, NABARD- Goa, said that, the financial institution would reach to remotest villages in the state for promoting the importance of WASH. She highlighted the fact that, Goa being the most literate state is already aware about the good hygiene practices. However, “considering the tourist destination a large number of people visit the state throughout the year and therefore there is need for committed efforts in this regard,” said Ramesh. A good number of villagers and other stakeholders viz, the BDO, Bardez, sarpanch, officials of planning department and officials from GWMC were present during the occasion. NABARD officials Vasant Savardekar, Nitin Chaughule and Rupesh C Bhamoikar,  also attended the function. The WASH campaign was launched by Dr  GR Chintala, chairman, NABARD, October 2, 2020.  NT

Union Bank of India celebrates 102nd Foundation Day

PANAJI: Union Bank of India launched three new products during its Foundation Day on November 11. The products pre-approved Union Digi Personal Loan, Union Digi Docx and Straight Through Process loan scheme was launched during the bank’s 102nd Foundation Day celebrations. Arjas Steel acquires Modern Steels Ltd

ANDHRA PRADESH:  Leading specialty steel manufacturer Arjas Steel Private Ltd announced recently that a definitive agreement has been signed between its wholly owned subsidiary, Arjas Modern Steel Private Ltd and Modern Steel Ltd, to acquire 100% of all steel business, heat treatment business and auto component business of Modern Steels Ltd. The deal will be fully consummated when all closing formalities are completed. This strategic partnership with Arjas Steel, will allow Modern Group to focus on their core auto component business whilst enabling Arjas Steel added capabilities in North India to serve its customers in a much more effective manner.
