Panaji: Goa on Thursday recorded 233 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally of confirmed cases above the 43,000-mark. At the same time, 194 patients recovered from the virus on Thursday.
As per the DHS, of the total 43,201 confirmed COVID-19 cases that Goa has recorded so far, 2,436 are active cases, while 40,168 patients have defeated the disease and as per the analysis the current recovery rate in Goa is 92.97 per cent.
According to the Directorate of Health Services, the 2,436 active cases are as follows: urban health centres – Margao (218), Vasco (117), Panaji (116) and Mapusa (98).
Community health centres – Sankhali (86), Bicholim (77), Pernem (55), Valpoi (48), Curchorem (40) and Canacona (63).
Primary health centres – Aldona (40), Betki (34), Candolim (110), Cansarvanem (12), Colvale (120), Corlim (96), Chimbel (128), Siolim (95), Porvorim (131), Mayem (19), Balli (41), Cansaulim (41), Chinchinim (34), Cortalim (94), Curtorim (81), Loutolim (45), Marcaim (43), Quepem (55), Sanguem (33), Shiroda (29), Dharbandora (39), Ponda (154) and Navelim (43).
Five more fatalities
Panaji: The state’s COVID-19 death count rose to 597 as five more COVID-19 positive patients succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours. All five deaths were recorded at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim. The five patients, who succumbed to the virus, include a 58-year-old woman from Altinho, Panaji; a 55-year-old woman from Karnataka, a 63-year-old man from Ponda, a 60-year-old man from Mapusa and a 79-year-old man from Sankhali.
