Start new ventures by availing govt schemes: Mauvin to entrepreneurs

Vasco: Minister for Transport and Panchayats Mauvin Godinho has called upon the private entrepreneurs to venture into new business activities by availing state and central government schemes.

Mauvin was speaking at the inaugural function of ‘Manjunath Air Lounge’, a hotel-cum- restaurant having juice centre, ice cream parlor and other various food jaunts under one roof at Umiya Quadro building, opposite INS Hansa Gate near Dabolim airport in the presence of deputy sarpanch of Chicalim panchayat Kamla Prasad Yadav, Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) chairperson Nandadeep Raut, attorney of Chicalim communidade Raymond Carvalho, social worker Brahma Pawar, proprietors of Manjunath Air Lounge Devidas Salgaonkar and Sahil Salgaonkar besides Prasad Naik and others.

Godinho emphasised on private partners to come forward and start various trades and business activities.

“It is a crucial time for the entrepreneurs due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic which has hit the world very badly. All the countries are going through severe financial crisis, but despite of the same, the private partners and other traders should come forward to overcome the present situation. It is high time for the private entrepreneurs to overcome the situation, but despite of the same, they will survive in their business, if they accept it as a challenge in this crucial time,” he said.

He maintained that state government is committed to bring new industries which will help the state in transforming in all dimensions.

“The state government under the able leadership of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is focusing on inviting more and more industries, thereby providing employment opportunities to the unemployed youths,” said Godinho.

He congratulated the proprietors of ‘Manjunath Air Lounge’ Devidas Salgaonkar and Sahil Salgaonkar for providing food jaunts under one roof which is aimed at serving the passengers – domestic as well as international on their arrival or before their departure from the Dabolim airport.

The newly inaugurated facility is about 200 metres away from Dabolim airport premises. The hotel cum restaurant will also come handy to the taxi operators.
