Panaji: In view of the death of three line helpers of electricity department in the accident after a truck carrying electricity poles turned turtle at Borim, Ponda, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday cancelled all his scheduled programmes including an online interaction with the students who have passed Goa Board exams.
After cancelling his all scheduled programmes post lunch, the Chief Minister rushed to Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim to assess the situation. He also met electricity staff who have been admitted to GMC for treatment.
However, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party went ahead with its scheduled programme of inducting Ritesh Naik and Roy Naik, sons of former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader from Ponda Ravi Naik at the party’s head office.
Sources said that a fresh date regarding an online interaction of the Chief Minister with the students would be announced soon.
